
Pune - A shocking case has come to light in which a 44-year-old woman was cheated of Rs 13 lakh on a matrimonial website, promising marriage and teaching her about the stock market. A case has been registered at Sahakarnagar police station in this regard.
The complainant, Padmavati, lives in Sahakarnagar. She met a young man named Harsh Bhargava on the 'Jeevan Saathi' website. After communicating for a few days, the accused gained the woman's trust by promising marriage.
Then, saying, "I teach stock market," he made the woman open an account in a bank in Dharampeth, Nagpur. He linked his mobile number to this account and made her deposit Rs. 11 lakh 74 thousand for various reasons.
Not only this, a loan of Rs 13 lakh 19 thousand was taken from Mannapuram Gold Finance in the woman's name and it was not returned. The woman neither got married nor got the money back. After realizing that she had been cheated, the woman rushed to Sahakarnagar police station. Further investigation into the case is underway.
