Pune, 19 August 2025: Pune witnessed heavy rainfall on Monday, which led to major disruptions in air travel. A Delhi-to-Pune Indigo flight, scheduled to land at 1:20 pm, was unable to touch down due to poor weather conditions and had to be diverted to Hyderabad.
Several outbound flights from Pune also faced delays, including services to Delhi, Jalgaon, and Jaipur, with passengers waiting for hours at the airport.
The weather also hampered road transport. Shivneri buses from Mumbai to Pune, which usually run on a strict timetable, arrived nearly an hour late at Swargate. The delay was largely due to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and slow-moving traffic on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway. Commuters faced long travel times as vehicles moved at a sluggish pace on the highway.
Despite the disruptions to flights and road services, railway operations remained unaffected. Officials confirmed that train services between Pune and other destinations were running on schedule, providing some relief to travellers.
