Pune: Athletes from R.B. Horangee and St. Felix School in Pune delivered an exceptional performance at the Open International Taekwondo Competition held in Goa.
The athletes dominated the event, securing a total of 27 medals, including 9 Gold, 4 Silver, and 14 Bronze, alongside a trophy for their remarkable team performance.
The international competition attracted top-level participants from around the globe, highlighting the achievement of these young athletes. The event saw athletes competing in two categories—Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae (forms).
Notable gold medal winners include Hanika Girish Patil, Niharika Deepak Indish, Violina Das, Neeti Kulkarni, Tanisha Yogesh Mudliar, Neel Sarang Dhoka, Aditi Dhananjay Ovhal, and Arvin Manjeet Pilakudy, who excelled in both Poomsae and Kyorugi.
Silver medals were awarded to Umaimah Sufiyan Ansari, Violina Das, Smera Mohan Londhe, and Rishona Jerry Louis. A total of 14 athletes, including Stuti Vishal Pathare, Sanidhi Milind Khandode, and Joanna Joshua Kakade, secured bronze medals.
The success of the team can be attributed to the guidance and expertise of Master Ravindra Bhandari, a 5th Dan Black Belt, who has trained the athletes rigorously for years.
The athletes also acknowledged the support of R.B. Horangee Taekwondo Do-jang Association team manager Girish Patil, along with their parents, for their encouragement and dedication.
In recognition of this achievement, leaders at R.B. Horangee, including Master Ravindra Bhandari, Sr. Ursula Pinto (Provincial of Pune), Sr. Rosemarie Almeida (School Manager), Sr. Jennifer Pereira (Principal), and Supervisor Sr. Elsa, were showered with congratulatory messages for the team’s success.
