IPL 2021 Auction: S Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh & Arjun Tendulkar among 1097 registered players

Some notable and surprise names are up for grabs in the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions on Feb 18. 1097 players have enlisted for the auction.

While Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and England’s Joe Root have opted out of the 2021 edition, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar has enlisted with a base price of Rs 20 lakh.

Among Indian players, former CSK players Harbhajan Singh and Kedhar Jadhav have put their base price at Rs 2 crore. While Hanuma Vihari along with Umesh Yadav has registered for Rs 1 crore, Indian test team number three Cheteshwar Pujara has put a base price of Rs 50 lakh.

Tainted Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth, who recently made a comeback in cricket after serving his suspension for the 2013 IPl spot-fixing controversy, has registered himself for this year's edition at a base price of Rs 75 lakh.

Among International players – Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Colin Ingram, Mark Wood, Shakib Al Hasan, Jason Roy, Liam Plunkett, and Moeen Ali have registered for a base price of Rs 2 crore.

World’s top-ranked T20 batsman David Malan has set his base price at Rs 1.5 crore. as have Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Alex Carey, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jhye Richardson, Mitchell Swepson, Tom Curran, Lewis Gregory, Alex Hales, Adam Lyth, Adil Rashid, and David Willey.

Australian ODI and T20 team captain Aaron Finch and his teammate Marnus Labuschagne have registered for a base price of Rs 1 crore.

IPL said that 1097 players (814 Indian and 283 overseas players) have signed up for the mega league. The auction is on February 18. It will start at 3 pm. The auction register incorporates 207 capped, 863 uncapped, and 27 Associate players. Of these, there are 21 capped Indian, there are 186 capped international, and 745 uncapped Indians.
