Pune: Bandai Namco Entertainment, the Japanese publisher behind global gaming franchises like PAC-MAN, Elden Ring, Dark Souls Trilogy, and One Piece, has made an additional investment in SuperGaming, a prominent Indian game development studio.

The investment comes through Bandai Namco’s 021 Startup Fund, launched in April 2022, which focuses on fostering innovative entertainment experiences and strengthening existing business verticals. India has been identified as a key growth market for the fund, alongside Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Roby John, CEO & Co-founder of SuperGaming, welcomed the renewed investment, stating: "Bandai Namco doubling down on their investment is a strong vote of confidence in our mission—to build world-class games and gaming infrastructure from India, for India and the world. This partnership further strengthens our vision of shaping the future of gaming on a global scale."

Founded in 2019 by Roby John, Sanket Nadhani, Christelle D’Cruz, Sreejit J, and Navneet Waraich, SuperGaming is known for its popular mobile titles like Silly Royale, Tower Conquest, and MaskGun. The company has also developed SuperPlatform, a cloud-based live-ops game development engine launched in collaboration with Google Cloud.

SuperPlatform provides SaaS-based game development solutions, enabling seamless integration with major game engines like Unity and Unreal Engine. Bandai Namco’s PAC-MAN mobile game, which has over one billion downloads, runs on SuperPlatform’s technology, showcasing its industry-wide impact.

Indus: A Made-in-India Battle Royale Success

SuperGaming has also found success with its Indo-futuristic battle royale game, Indus, which launched in October 2024 and has surpassed 6 million downloads. Reflecting the studio’s dedication to culturally rich gaming experiences, Indus holds a 4.0-star rating on Google Play Store and a 4.2-star rating on the App Store.

Since Bandai Namco’s initial investment in March 2023, the 021 Fund has closely tracked SuperGaming’s rapid growth, deep player engagement, and strong game development expertise. These factors, along with SuperGaming’s continued collaboration with Bandai Namco teams, have reaffirmed confidence in the Indian studio’s potential as a leading force in the country’s gaming industry.

SuperGaming previously raised $5.5 million in Series A funding from investors including Akatsuki Entertainment Technology Fund, Skycatcher, BAce Capital, and Dream Incubator.
