Pune: The Palkhi processions of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj are set to arrive in Pune on Sunday (June 30), with a scheduled halt thereafter. City Police have released a Google Map Link for citizens to track the Palkhi procession route.

Due to the arrival of the Palkhis, major roads in the city will be closed to traffic as needed from Sunday afternoon. The city's traffic police have urged citizens to use alternative routes due to the anticipated traffic changes.

The Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession will enter Pune from Pimpri Chinchwad on Sunday afternoon. As a result, roads from Bopodi Chowk, Khadki Railway Station, Mariaai Gate Chowk, Kamalnayan Bajaj Chowk, and the old Mumbai-Pune highway up to Wakdewadi will be closed to traffic.

For the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi, roads from Kalas Phata to Vishrantwadi Chowk, Yerawada Mental Hospital to Alandi Road Chowk, Chandrama Chowk to Alandi Road, new Dr. Ambedkar Setu to Chandrama Chowk, and Holkar Bridge to Sapras Chowk will be closed. Roads leading to Alandi will also be closed as necessary, while other routes will remain open.

Both Palkhis will converge at Patil Estate and proceed together to their halting points. The route will include COEP Chowk, Sancheti Chowk, IMD Chowk, Veer Chapekar Chowk, Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk, Tukaram Paduka Chowk, Gokhale Chowk (Goodluck), Khanduji Baba Chowk, Tilak Chowk, Laxmi Road, Vijay Cinema Chowk, Sevasadan Chowk, Belbaug Chowk, Budhwar Chowk, Pasodya Vithoba Temple, Moti Chowk, Sonya Maruti Chowk, Hamjekhan Chowk, Dulya Maruti Chowk, Nana Peth Police Station.

Sant Tukaram Maharaj's Palkhi will stay at the Shri Nivdunga Vitthal Temple in Nana Peth via Aruna Chowk, and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's Palkhi will stay at the Shri Palkhi Vitthal Temple in Bhavani Peth via Ashoka Chowk. Due to the halting of the Palkhis, there will be changes in the traffic arrangements in Nana-Bhavani Peth.

  • Red Line - Roads Closed to Traffic

  • Blue Line - Palkhi Route

  • Green Line - Alternative Routes

  • Ganeshkhind Road (Range Hills Corner Chowk to Sancheti Hospital)

    Alternative Route: Range Hills- Khadki Police Station, Poultry Chowk, Old Mumbai Pune Highway, Range Hills, Senapati Bapat Road, Law College Road.

  • Fergusson College Road (Khanduji Baba Chowk to Veer Chapekar Chowk)

    Alternative Route: Karve Road, Senapati Bapat Road, Range Hills.

  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road (Gadgil Statue to S. G. Barve Chowk)

    Alternative Route: Kumbhar Ves, Maldhakka Chowk, RTO Chowk, Jahangir Hospital, Bund Garden Road.

  • Tilak Chowk to Veer Chapekar Chowk

    Alternative Route: Shastri Road, Mhatre Bridge.

  • Laxmi Road (Belbaug Chowk to Tilak Chowk)

    Alternative Route: Shivaji Road, Hirabag Tilak Road, Shastri Road.

  • Senadatta Police Chowki to Khanduji Baba Chowk on Shastri Road closed
