
Pune: A chaotic incident unfolded at Vishrantwadi Police Station on December 10, where two men and two women created a commotion, verbally abused female police officers, and attempted to assault a youth who was being interrogated.
The Vishrantwadi Police have registered a case against the accused for obstructing government work and misconduct.
The complaint was lodged by Sub-Inspector Padmaraj Ramrao Gample, and the accused have been identified as Rupesh Pralhad Gayadin (41), Rakesh Pralhad Gayadin (38), and two women, all residents of Munjaba Wasti, Dhanori.
The Gayadin family had reported a missing woman from Dhanori to the police and expressed suspicion about the involvement of a youth from Daund. Acting on the complaint, the police brought the youth to the station for questioning.
During the interrogation, the accused entered the police station and attempted to physically assault the youth.
The police intervened to prevent the assault, but the situation escalated as the accused began shouting and causing a ruckus. They also verbally abused female police officers and engaged in physical altercations.
The police have charged the four individuals under relevant sections for creating disturbances and obstructing official duties. The investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Chaudhary.
A senior officer stated, "We take such incidents very seriously. The law will take its course, and appropriate action will be taken against those who disrupt the functioning of a police station and behave inappropriately."
