Pune: Acting on complaints, Haveli Tehsildar Trupti Kolte led a raid at Perne Phata, uncovering irregularities at a Shiv Bhojan Thali center and an unauthorized Aadhaar card center. Immediate action was taken against both establishments.
The government-run Shiv Bhojan Thali center was supposed to provide meals at subsidized rates under the Sangharsh Mahila Bachat Gat. However, a private mess board was placed at the location, and customers were being charged extra beyond the government-fixed rates.
Upon inspection, officials found that the center did not maintain any register or documentation. Despite being set up for 50 people, only three to four tables were available. Additionally, CCTV cameras at the center were not functioning properly, raising concerns about transparency. Following the raid, appropriate action was taken against the center.
Unauthorized Aadhaar Card Center Busted
A parallel investigation was conducted at ShriRaj Cyber Cafe, where an unauthorized Aadhaar card center was being operated. The Perne Gram Panchayat had earlier lodged a complaint with the District Collector’s office regarding this illegal operation.
Officials discovered that the Aadhaar card center was registered under a different name and location but was operating elsewhere. During the raid, a person named Sagar Shingane was found at the center. However, he refused to share any information and did not have access to the login credentials or passwords required to operate the system.
Seizure of Equipment and Further Investigation
Following these findings, all machines, laptops, and related equipment were seized from the Aadhaar card center. The Tehsildar announced that the seized machines would be submitted to the District Collector’s office for further examination. Authorities will also investigate the Aadhaar cards issued from this center to determine any fraudulent activities.
The raid was conducted with the participation of revenue department officials and Gram Panchayat staff. Authorities have assured strict action against any further violations found in the investigation.
