Pune: Sancheti Hospital marked the first-ever World Meditation Day with an inspiring event focused on the power of meditation in transforming mental well-being. The program included an insightful talk on the science and techniques of meditation, accompanied by practical demonstrations.
The event was graced by Brahmakumari Sarita Didi (Sarita Rathi), a globally acclaimed motivational speaker and Senior Rajyoga Teacher, as the Chief Guest. Key dignitaries present included Rupal Sancheti, Head of Marketing and Digital at Sancheti Hospital; Dr. Lavneesh Tyagi, Head of the Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation; and Dr. P.S. Garcha, Senior Anesthesiologist.
Addressing the audience, Sister Sarita highlighted meditation’s transformative role in mental health, stating, "Meditation clears the mind of negative thoughts and replenishes it with positivity. By focusing on the root—the mind—we can stabilize it, foster positive thinking, and promote self-healing. This helps individuals overcome anxiety, depression, and stress, while enabling a fresh outlook on life and relationships."
Sancheti Hospital recently unveiled a state-of-the-art meditation room, the first of its kind in any hospital in Maharashtra. This serene space is dedicated to the emotional and mental well-being of patients, their families, and hospital staff, embodying the hospital’s "Patient First" philosophy. The meditation room provides a calming environment for relatives coping with stress, promoting positivity and resilience.
Sancheti Hospital has also declared itself a "No Anger Zone." This initiative aims to create a tranquil and supportive atmosphere for patients and their families, addressing the emotional challenges they may face. Extending this initiative to its workforce, the hospital plans to train over 1,000 employees, including doctors, in compassion and mindfulness.
Dr. Parag Sancheti, Chairman of Sancheti Hospital, stated, "At Sancheti Hospital, we believe in holistic healing that encompasses the body, mind, and soul. Our meditation room symbolizes this philosophy, offering a sanctuary for all. The ‘No Anger Zone’ further underscores our commitment to creating a supportive environment. On World Meditation Day, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering peace and mindfulness, and we deeply thank Brahmakumari Sarita Didi for sharing her invaluable wisdom."
Rupal Sancheti elaborated on the action plan for implementing the "No Anger Zone," which includes a three-month training program for staff in collaboration with the Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation, a sister organization of the Brahma Kumaris. The initiative is expected to be fully operational within the next three months.
The meditation room and "No Anger Zone" exemplify Sancheti Hospital’s forward-thinking approach to healthcare, setting new standards in integrating mindfulness and well-being into clinical care.
