Dunkin', the coffee and doughnut chain, is offering free coffee to its rewards members on Tuesday, April 21. Starting at 9 a.m. local time that day, Dunkin' Rewards members can enter the promo code "FREECOFFEE1" in the Dunkin' app to redeem the deal, subject to availability.
The chain told USA TODAY that customers have one week from receiving the offer to use it. The promotion does not apply to cold brew or extra-large hot coffees, and it is limited to one redemption per customer.
Dunkin' drops cryptic post on Instagram
The company teased the forthcoming promotion with a cryptic Instagram post dated Friday, April 17. The post featured a screenshot from the Notes app bearing the message, “just a girl and her notes app.” Within the screenshot, one of the notes had the title "Another million coffees? April 21st?" and contained the text "drop @ 9am code could be freecoffee1."
The caption from the company read, "Just gonna leave this here."
Customers have a period of seven days following the addition of the offer to their account to take advantage of it. There is a restriction of one offer per customer, and the promotion does not apply to cold brew or extra-large hot coffees.
This is the second time this month that Dunkin' has offered free coffee, following an earlier giveaway on April Fools' Day.
Dunkin' unveils its spring menu and launches a new line of canned coffee
The free coffee promotion comes on the heels of Dunkin’s spring menu launch, which includes several banana-flavored drinks and the comeback of the $6 meal deal.
The coffee chain has also unveiled its new Dunkin' Double 15 oz. cans, created to give fans more of the smooth iced espresso taste they love in a convenient option for hectic days. Dunkin' says each Dunkin' Double contains the equivalent of two espresso shots and comes in three popular flavors: original, café mocha, and salted caramel. The Dunkin' Double line joins the brand's ready-to-drink offerings, which already feature bottled iced coffees. These canned beverages are available at major retailers, including Walmart, Kroger, Publix, QuikTrip, and Amazon.
