Panic broke out at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington on Saturday night after a shooting incident prompted a swift security response and the evacuation of President Donald Trump along with other top officials.
Reports of gunfire sent guests ducking for cover as Secret Service personnel and security forces rushed into the venue. Trump was later confirmed to be safe, and no immediate casualties were reported.
The banquet hall, which was hosting hundreds of journalists, celebrities, and political leaders, was evacuated as security teams secured the area. Attendees were escorted out but not allowed to re-enter, while National Guard personnel were deployed inside the venue.
