US Polls: Will rain play ‘Trump’ card for Biden just like it did for Sharad Pawar

Just three days to go before the counting, Former vice-President and current Presidential candidate, Joe Biden, took to holding rallies in Florida.

Campaigning hours apart in Florida, a state all but essential to the Republican’s pathway to another term, he stated supporters “You hold the power. If Florida goes blue, it’s over.” The candidate was forced to wrap his speech up early at a rally at the Florida State Fairgrounds In Tampa after a brief shower turned into a torrential downpour.

A photograph was later posted on Twitter by Biden where he is seen addressing the rally while the rain is pouring down on him. "The storm will pass, a new day will come," Biden captioned his photo on the social media handle. As soon as the image went viral, Biden was hailed as the winner for staying through the rain and continuing his speech.

In 2019, a video of the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) Chief Sharad Pawar drenched in rain and admitting his ‘mistake’ in choosing candidates for the assembly elections in Satara had gone viral. The NCP finished third but improved its total from 41 seats in 2014 to 54 in 2019. Many political leaders and experts still accept, that Pawar’s enthusiastic rain speech helped NCP in many seats.
