
Pune: Open source technologies help in driving innovation and provides edge to enterprises, said Ameeta Roy, Director of Solution Architecture at Red Hat India and South Asia. She was speaking on the sidelines of a recently concluded event Red Hat Tech Yatra, organised by Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source solutions.
Neeraj Bhatia, Director Partner, Alliances and Commercial Sales, Red Hat India and South Asia stated that the strength of Red Hat has been its openness. Neeraj said a number of contributors brainstorm at the innovation lab along with the customers to find solution to different problems, which helps the open source ecosystem. “At Red Hat, apart from training and certification, we also provide consulting services to our customers which helps in expanding the open source ecosystem,” he added.
Speaking about future of cloud technologies, Roy said that with the large number of benefits provided by hybrid cloud, many customers are bound to adopt the technology.
“Hybrid cloud comes with the benefits of security, interoperability, portability and flexibility of open source,” she added.
Speaking on acceptance of these technologies by customers Roy said,”The level of acceptance is great. While some customers are looking for optimising their infrastructure, some are looking for a fast launch of their product on a platform and we are glad that we are able to cater to these demands. Open source technologies also provide edge to its customers and help customers in easy migration of their applications.”
The Director of Solution Architecture also shared that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Red Hat OpenShift technologies are the latest offerings of Red Hat.
A number of industry experts were present at the event held at Hotel Westin near Koregaon Park.
