150th Saksham Cyclothon 2019 campaign launched

PUNE: The Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has launched their 150th (Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav) Saksham Cyclothon on January 20, 2019. In this initiative, 400 cities which includes Pune will participate. Indo Cyclist Club and Lions Club are supporting this cause from Pune.

Devidas Patil, Chief Manager Sales of Hindustan Petroleum, said, “The main aim of this initiative is to create awareness and sensitise people on environment, health and conservation of petroleum products. Since this being the 150th initiative, 400 cities will participate in the Cyclothon and our aim is to have more than 3,000 participants.”

Gajanan Khaire, Founder President of Indo Cyclist Club in Pimpri-Chinchwad, said, “For the first time, we have been given a chance to carry forward this initiative and manage it. The cyclathon will have a race of 12 km and 6 km. There is no entry fees for the cyclathon. We are expecting all the cyclist from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad to participate in the event."

ROUTE FOR 12 KM
The route will start from PCMC water treatment plant - Appu Ghar and will then go to DY Patil College via Anand Hospital, then from Kiwale-Mukai Chowk the path will again return towards Anand Hospital, it will then go towards Sambhaji Chowk and will reach Bhakti Shakti Chowk via Bhel Chowk and end the 12 km patch of cycling near the water treatment plant.

ROUTE FOR 6 KM
The route will start from PCMC water treatment plant - Appu Ghar and will then go towards DY Patil College via Anand Hospital and will return from there after covering Sambhaji Chowk and will reach Bhakti Shakti Chowk via Bhel Chowk and end the 6 km patch of cycling near the water treatment plant.
