Pune: In a case of one-sided love, an 18-year-old boy was assaulted by a group of six near Sahakar Nagar police station area on Wednesday night. All six accused are absconding after the incident.
The primary accused was identified as Suraj Botre who, along with five others, carried out a murderous attack on Omkar Kamble with a chopper. The victim suffered grievous injuries and was admitted to the hospital after the attack, where he is undergoing treatment.
According to Sahakar Nagar police station, on Wednesday night, at around 9.15 pm, while Kamble was standing outside Shiv Chhatrapati Mangal Karyalaya, he was confronted by Botre and five others. Botre questioned Kamble about why he was troubling his sister and then suddenly, he and his friends attacked Kamble.
All six accused have been booked under section 307 (Attempt to murder), 143 (Punishment for unlawful assembly), 144 (Joining unlawful assembly armed with deadly weapon) of the Indian Penal Code.
