PUNE/ PIMPRI: After retaining power in Delhi state elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers celebrated the victory in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad on Tuesday.
At Alka Talkies Chowk, AAP workers and supporters danced and praised party chief Arvind Kejriwal. In Pimpri, they distributed sugar to celebrate the victory.
Wearing caps with the party symbol and holding banners with the Delhi chief minister’s photo, workers in Pune danced to dhol beats.
Speaking to Sakal Times, the candidate of AAP from Parvati Assembly constituency, Sandeep Sonawane said, “It is a victory of development. The BJP wanted to experiment with the formula of polarisation on the name of religion so that they can implement it in other state elections. However, the BJP failed. It is a major setback for the BJP in this election.”
He said, “After this victory, we will implement best practices in Pune. Some cities are already inspired by APP initiatives.”
