Pune, 13 January 2026: Bajaj has handed over 100 Dominar-400 motorcycles to Pune City Police, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police and Pune Rural Police to strengthen law enforcement and emergency response across the region. The handover ceremony was held at the Shivajinagar Police Headquarters in Pune in the presence of senior police and civic officials.
The motorcycles were received by Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey and Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Gill, along with district and municipal authorities. The initiative is part of Bajaj’s support for public safety ahead of the Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026.
These Dominar-400 bikes will first serve as the official convoy for the Bajaj Pune Grand Tour from January 19 to 23, covering a 437-kilometre route across urban and rural parts of Pune district. After the event, the motorcycles will be permanently deployed for regular policing, traffic management and emergency duties.
The police-spec Dominar-400 is based on Bajaj’s powerful 373cc motorcycle but has been specially modified for law enforcement. Each bike is fitted with emergency lights, sirens, public address systems, GPS tracking, charging ports and secure storage boxes.
They also carry first-aid kits and communication equipment to help officers respond quickly to accidents and crime.
With Pune witnessing rapid urban growth and major road upgrades, these high-performance motorcycles are expected to improve patrolling in crowded city areas as well as in remote rural zones. Officials said the new fleet will help the police move faster, manage traffic better and reach emergencies without delay.
Bajaj said the Dominar-400’s strength, stability and advanced safety features make it ideal for demanding police work, helping officers protect citizens more effectively across Pune and its surrounding areas.
