Pune, 11th August 2026: The Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar Temple will remain open throughout the Shravan month to accommodate the expected rise in devotees. The decision was taken during a meeting at the Pune District Collector’s Office to review preparations for the pilgrimage season.
Due to ongoing development work at Bhimashankar, restrictions had earlier been placed on temple darshan timings. However, considering the large number of devotees expected during Shravan, the administration has decided to keep the temple open for extended hours.
From the first day of Shravan, devotees will be able to have darshan from 5 am to 9:30 pm. The move is expected to make the pilgrimage more convenient for devotees visiting Bhimashankar from across the country and give a boost to religious tourism in the region.
The meeting reviewed arrangements for darshan, crowd management, devotee safety, traffic control and essential facilities around the temple. Officials also discussed measures to ensure that ongoing development works do not cause inconvenience to pilgrims during the busy Shravan period.
As Bhimashankar is an important religious destination and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, officials are focusing on improving arrangements while managing the expected rush of devotees.
The administration said efforts would continue to ensure the overall development of Bhimashankar while giving priority to the faith, convenience and safety of devotees.
The meeting was attended by Khed MLA Babaji Kale, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Gajanan Patil, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Sub-Divisional Officer Archana Tambe and representatives of the Bhimashankar temple trust, along with other officials.
