Coronavirus Maharashtra: MahaRail employees to donate one day’s salary

PUNE: The employees of MahaRail aka Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (MRIDC) have decided to give their one-day salary to fight against the coronavirus.  MahaRail is a joint venture of the Government of Maharashtra and Ministry of Railways.

In a statement release by MahaRail it was stated, “In view of the threat posed by the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and complete lockdown across India, MahaRail shall be contributing towards Covid-19 relief fund. Employees have decided to contribute their one-day salary towards Covid-19 relief fund to fight the virus menace.

Managing Director of MIRDC Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal said, “As coronavirus cases continue to rise, MIRDC will contribute one-day gross salary of their willing employees, officers towards the relief fund to fight against deadly coronavirus.”

Maharashtra has been one of the worst-affected states in India with over 300 positive cases. The global positive cases and fatalities stand in excess of eight lakhs and 39,000 respectively.
