Coronavirus Pune: PNG Jewellers to donate 500 PPE kits

PUNE: Leading jewellery retailer in Pune, PNG Jewellers, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community outreach will donate 500 PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) kits for doctors and support staff at hospitals in Pune to support their first line of protection against the threat of the novel coronavirus.

The company has started the distribution of PPE kits which include hand gloves, masks, safety goggles, full-body covering gowns, bedsheets to KEM Hospital, Bharati Hospital Dhankawadi and Noble Hospital Hadapsar to strengthen the battle against COVID-19.

The company aims to recognise the needs of people on the ground and those who are in the middle of this fight by supporting them with essential services, including food and other medical assistance.

Commenting on the initiative, Saurabh Gadgil, Chairman and Managing Director of PNG Jewellers said, “Our doctors, nurses and other support staff at hospitals are directly in the line of fire during this crisis. Our small initiative and support is a token of appreciation to them.”

PNG has been working closely with local communities in Maharashtra for many years to uplift the needy and provide basic infrastructure to the needy.

Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in Maharashtra have crossed the 3,000 mark with cities such as Mumbai, Thane and Pune being worse hit. Talking about the nationwide cases of COVID-19, the number has crossed the 12,000 with over 400 deaths reported.
