
Pune: One-fourth of all deaths in Pune so far have been at Government-run Sassoon General Hospital.
According to the statistic recorded by the Health Department, till date, 420 COVID-19 patients died at Sassoon General Hospital. Of these, 14 patients died before they were brought to the hospital, but tested positive for coronavirus.
Since Sassoon General Hospital is an independent COVID-19 hospital and critical patients are admitted there, it appears to have the highest number of deaths.
Currently, the hospital is treating 233 Coronavirus positive patients and nine suspected patients, while 17 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. Out of the total 233 patients, 172 patients have comorbidities and 25 are on a ventilator.
Additionally, 65 other patients are in a critical condition but no not have ventilator support. On Wednesday, twelve patients were reported dead and 20 patients have been discharged. 749 people have been discharged so far.
The total number of patients screened in Sassoon Hospital account to 7,599, out of which 4,877 patients were found to be suspected. So far 5,166 patients have been examined and a total of 24,000 patient samples have been tested, out of which 4,077 patients have tested positive.
