Pune, 4th July 2026: To strengthen traffic management during the monsoon, Ashadhi Wari Palkhi procession and upcoming Ganesh Festival, CREDAI Pune has deployed 100 traffic wardens to assist the Pune Traffic Police for the next three months.

The initiative aims to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and ensure safer travel across the city during the peak festive season.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Pune Traffic Police and CREDAI Pune under which the volunteers will work under the guidance and supervision of traffic police personnel.

The traffic wardens will be stationed at major intersections, busy roads, the Palkhi procession route and other congestion-prone areas across the city. They will assist police in regulating traffic, guiding motorists and helping maintain smooth vehicular movement during large public gatherings and festivals.

Addressing the newly inducted traffic wardens, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar urged them to work with discipline and in close coordination with the traffic police to ensure safe and efficient traffic management for citizens. He also appreciated CREDAI Pune for extending support to the police as part of its social responsibility initiatives.

The initiative was implemented under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Darade. Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare played a key role in coordinating the program.

The initiative also received support from CREDAI Pune President Manish Jain, Convenor Sanjay Deshpande and Administrator Colonel Ram. Pune Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel and follow traffic regulations to ensure smooth movement throughout the festive season.
