

PUNE: Padmashree Dr Indira Hinduja will be honoured with the woman researcher national award and wonder woman Seema Rao will receive the woman bravery award given by the Kirtan Sanjeevani Pushpalata Ranade organisers.
Hinduja has been awarded for her research in IVF technology while Rao is the country’s first woman commando trainer from Mumbai.
The annual awards will be presented on November 21. It will be held at SM Joshi Sabhagruha.
The chief guest for the award function will be former Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University and eminent pediatric surgeon Dr Snehalata Deshmukh and the chairperson for the award function would be former governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik.
The awards are being presented to women who have excelled in the field of research and bravery since the year 2011 in memory of Kirtankar Pushpalata Ranade, informed chief organiser of the award ceremony Suresh Ranade and Jayashri Ranade.
The awardees will be given Rs 2 lakh and a citation.
A scholarship of Rs 1 lakh will be offered to Rita Shetia, who has been pursuing her PhD in economics.
