Officials stated that police have filed an FIR against a motorcyclist in Pune for allegedly overtaking the convoy of Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol while reportedly under the influence of alcohol.

Police said the incident occurred on Saturday at around 8:30 pm in the Shivajinagar area of the city. A subsequent medical examination of the motorcyclist confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol when he overtook the convoy of the Minister of State for Civil Aviation.

They added that Mohol’s convoy was travelling from Pune airport to Kothrud at the time.

According to the police, when the convoy arrived at Sancheti Chowk in Shivajinagar, the accused dangerously and carelessly cut into its path and overtook it.

The FIR states that the 32-year-old was riding the motorcycle in a way that endangered other road users and could disrupt the flow of traffic.

An official from the Shivajinagar police station stated that the accused has been charged under Sections 184, 185, 119, and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Section 185 pertains to driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to the official, a medical examination confirmed that the accused was intoxicated at the time of the incident. The accused was released after being issued a notice, the official added.
