Pune: The State government has announced the Maulana Azad free tuition fee scheme for students from minority communities who have failed in standard 10 and 12 with the aim of training them for the preparation of civil services and other competitive exams and to increase their representation in government and semi-government establishments. The State government allocated Rs 10,94,000 for the tuition scheme through a GR issued on Saturday.
Under this scheme, centres for the training of minority students have been identified in the city centres at Nashik, Pune, Thane, Mumbai, Amravati and Nagpur. The Diamond Charitable Trust, a non-profit organisation from Nagpur, has been allocated these funds to organise and manage the tuition and training centres.
