
Central Railway will run 12 special trains between Pune and Ratnagiri to ease festive travel during Ganeshotsav; reservations open from today.
These include six weekly non-AC specials and six weekly AC special trains, running between August 23 and September 9.
The trains will halt at key stations en route including Chinchwad, Talegaon, Lonavala, Kalyan, Panvel, Roha, Chiplun, and Sangameshwar Road.
Pune, 24 July 2025: To accommodate the surge in festive travel during Ganeshotsav, Central Railway's Pune Division has announced 12 special trains between Pune and Ratnagiri. These trains are aimed at helping Konkan-bound passengers, especially those who live and work in Pune, to conveniently travel home for the celebrations.
Ganeshotsav is celebrated with immense enthusiasm in the Konkan region, and many residents temporarily residing in Pune travel back to their hometowns. To manage the increased demand, Central Railway will operate both non-air-conditioned and air-conditioned weekly special trains.
There will be six non-AC weekly special trains (Train No. 01447/01488):
Train No. 01447 will depart Pune at 12:25 AM on August 23, August 30, and September 6 and reach Ratnagiri by 11:50 AM the same day.
Train No. 01488 will depart Ratnagiri at 5:50 PM on the same dates and arrive in Pune at 5:00 AM the next day.
Additionally, six AC weekly special trains (Train No. 01445/01446) will also operate:
Train No. 01445 will depart Pune at 12:25 AM on August 26, September 2, and September 9, reaching Ratnagiri by 11:50 AM.
Train No. 01446 will depart Ratnagiri at 5:50 PM on the same dates and arrive in Pune at 5:00 AM the next morning.
All these trains will halt at the following stations: Chinchwad, Talegaon, Lonavala, Kalyan, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Karanjadi, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, and Sangameshwar Road.
Apart from the Pune-Ratnagiri trains, Central Railway has also announced 250 special Ganpati train services across ten routes between Mumbai/Pune and various Konkan destinations, including Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi, and Madgaon. Special trains from Mumbai will depart from CSMT and LTT stations.
