Pune: Over 1.5 crore people across the world have watched Pune’s Ganeshotsav this year on a video blogging social media platform. Most of the viewers were from the US followed by South East Asian countries, including Thailand and Malaysia.
Over 200 video clips capturing some golden and memorable moments of the Ganeshotsav 2017 in the past two weeks have been uploaded on www.hautebook.com/ganpati/pune-ganeshostav, a video blogging platform.
Since the PMC has decided to mark the public celebration of Ganeshotsav completing 125 years and to launch it as a national and international level attraction to boost tourism, the civic body was offered the service of video blogging social platform: www.hautebook.com owned by Bobby Jadhav, an entrepreneur, and a software executive.
It was observed that over 200 video clips, especially focusing the 125 years of Pune’s Ganesh festival, were viewed by over 1.5 crore netizens worldwide. The most viewed video was that of school children participating in the event of making
eco-friendly Ganesh idols out of clay.
Sharing details of the video blogging social platform, Jadhav said it was made available to the PMC free of cost. Most of the videos were shot by his team members to make viewers, particularly from outside Pune and abroad, feel and enjoy the Pune’s own Ganesh festival.
“Since we started uploading the Ganeshotsav related clips two weeks ago, we have been monitoring traffic on www.hautebook.com. We have received overwhelming response from the US, South East Asian countries, the UK and most importantly from many Gulf countries too,” Jadhav told Sakal Times.
He said the most viewed videos were related to the 125 years of Ganesh festival. Each viewer was hooked to the videos on an average for 30 to 40 minutes.
“More videos related to the colourful procession of Ganesh immersion will be uploaded by Thursday evening. The viewership is likely to go up by 40 lakh across the globe,” Jadhav added.
