Glossaread will help colleges in tier II and tier III cities

PUNE: After publishing study materials for college students online, Glossaread Technologies now has taken a step forward to provide advanced digital education assistance in colleges in tier-II and -III cities and also facilitate guidance for upgrading higher educational ranking.

Sakal Times had earlier reported that Glossaread, first of its kind digital portal in Maharashtra, avails study materials for students online and was launched in August. Till now, it has attracted over 15,000 users from colleges affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

“It definitely cuts down on a lot of hassles of running around for notes. Especially, the final year students are occupied with several projects and assignments, therefore, we get very limited time to spare for these works. Also, many a times students don’t attend all lectures, the portal has powerpoint presentations of respective professors of the particular batch as well. Moreover, often we have to buy books online or borrow from the library for just one or two topics which becomes expensive. Whereas on Glossaread, we can directly access the topics or chapters required to study at a nominal price,” said Bhavana Chaudhary, final year engineering student from a city-based college.

Professor SA Darade said, “The contents on Glossaread are specific to the syllabus provided by SPPU and are created by experts and learned professors from the university. The portal makes it easier for professors to find notes or teaching materials which are creative and innovative with various examples. It is a good initiative as we are moving towards digital education. It becomes easier for students and us as well to refer the portal and teach.”

DIGITAL EDUCATION
The website has now started collaborating with colleges from tier II and III cities to provide digital education assistance and make higher education convenient and affordable. Under this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), it will build complete digitisation of content and teaching enablement.

It will enable industrial collaboration which will help provide better placement and internship opportunities to students. Furthermore, it will give technology consultation and revenue opportunities. The facility is for free.

“One of the essential factors to raise the higher educational institute ranking is to have industrial collaborations. Many colleges of tier II and III cities lack guidance for improving quality of education, affecting their rankings in National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and other rankings. So to support these colleges, we will guide them in enhancing their institute rankings and develop a digital platform for their students to access study materials at no cost,” said, Founder of Glossaread Chandrabhanu Pattajoshi.

72-HOUR HACKATHON
Glossaread will be soon organising a 72-hours Mega Hackathon for students of computer engineering and IT from colleges affiliated to SPPU in December and January. Top companies and brands will participate in the hackathon. They have called for applications before November 30.
