IGNOU renews MoU with IIBF

PUNE: Due to huge response for enrollment in banking and finance courses, School of Management Studies of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) to provide the specialised programme for in-service banking professionals. 

IGNOU’s MBA (Banking and Finance) programme has been developed to upgrade the managerial skills, capabilities and orientation of the in-service banking personnel.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Nageshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU and JN Misra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IIBF.

IGNOU has been offering banking and finance courses in association with IIBF since 1999. The university has sought suggestions to increase enrollment in the programme. Rao emphasised on making the programme more relevant.  

Madhu Tyagi, Director of SOMS said, “This renewal will give us a chance to expand the programme and benefit more in the banking and finance sector.”

Dr Masood Parveez, Senior Regional Director of IGNOU Regional Centre, Pune said that MBA (Banking and Finance) of IGNOU is one of the popular programmes in the banking and finance sector. “IGNOU has received a large response for admission especially in this particular course. Also with the continuation of association with IIBF, the university is planning to increase the number of enrollments for the course as well,” said Parveez.
