Illegal Bangladeshi Women Nabbed in Katraj with Indian Documents

Two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from Katraj for illegally residing in India and possessing forged Indian identity documents, including Aadhaar and passport; one accomplice from Bihar also held.

Pune, 27 June 2025: Two Bangladeshi women residing illegally in India were found to be in possession of Indian documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card, and passport. The Ambegaon Police have arrested the two women along with a man who allegedly helped them obtain these documents.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rinkidevi alias Khatun Tamina Makbool Moral (38), Liza Makbool Sheikh alias Khatun Taslima Mofizur Rahman (30), both residents of Siddhivinayak Society, Ambegaon Budruk, Katraj, and originally from Bangladesh. The third accused, Pramod Kumar Chaudhary, is a native of Fatehpur, Nalanda, Bihar.

Police constable Sagar Narge received a tip-off on June 25 regarding the presence of Bangladeshi nationals residing in the Ambegaon Budruk area. Based on this input, a team conducted a raid and questioned the women. Though they initially presented Indian passports, further search of their residence revealed Bangladeshi passports, exposing their real identity, said Senior Police Inspector Sharad Zine.

Entered India Using Forged Documents
According to the police, Pramod helped the women procure fake birth certificates and school leaving certificates from Bihar. These were then used to obtain Aadhaar, PAN cards, and eventually Indian passports. Notably, Liza Sheikh is said to have travelled to Bangladesh three times using the forged Indian passport.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of DCP Smarta Patil and ACP Rahul Aware by a team led by Senior Police Inspector Sharad Zine, Inspector (Crime) Gajanan Chormole, Sub-Inspectors Yuvraj Shinde and Nilesh Jamdade, along with Sagar Narge, Pramod Bhosale, Swapnil Sharma, and Pooja Khavale.
