

PUNE: Additional Director General of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Atulchandra Kulkarni on Thursday said that the CID will set up an independent sketch department to draw sketches of suspects. The CID chief was present to inaugurate a research published on importance of sketches in solving cases by CID.
Speaking at the event, Kulkarni said that the research done by Girish Charvad will help Centre of Police Research. Charwad holds a doctorate on ‘Sketches of suspects’.
“The English version of the research will soon be released and will be provided to all police research centres and educational institutions,” added Kulkarni.
Padma Vibhushan Babasaheb Purandare, former Pune and Mumbai Police Commissioner Dhananjay Jadhav, Additional Director General of Police Ashok Dhivera (retired) and other dignitaries were present.
