Pune, 3rd July 2026: The investigation into the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal has taken a fresh turn, with police identifying another youth who allegedly had prior knowledge of the murder conspiracy. Investigators are now examining his role and the information he possessed before and after the crime.
According to sources, the youth is said to be a classmate of the main accused, Chetan Chaudhary. Police suspect that Chetan and co-accused Siya had discussed the alleged plan to kill Ketan with him before the incident. Investigators are also looking into the nature of these conversations as part of the ongoing probe.
Police sources further said that the duo had allegedly urged the youth to accompany them to Lohagad fort on June 18, the day the murder is believed to have taken place. However, he reportedly did not travel to Lohagad that day.
Investigators have also found that after the alleged murder, Chetan first met this same friend before meeting anyone else. This development is being treated as an important lead as police continue to reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the case.
The youth is originally from Maharashtra's Beed district and is currently employed at a private company in Balewadi. Police are questioning him to determine the extent of his knowledge and whether he had any involvement in the alleged conspiracy.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials are expected to examine additional evidence before deciding on any further action.
