Pune: Residents of Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) will soon get a bibliophile-friendly space to get away from their routine and indulge in reading. The board administration will soon develop a state-of-the-art library and study room with better facilities for residents to enjoy the peaceful reading time.

This library and study room will be developed near Nehru Garden (popularly known as Trikoni Garden) on Elphinstone Road which comes under KCB jurisdiction.

The study room will hold a capacity of at least 100 students, while the library will have over 1,000 books and daily newspapers at its display along with which e-library facility will also be available for readers.

While speaking about hosting a library and study room of this sort, Amol Jagtap, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KCB said, “This will come as a respite to many students who are aspiring for competitive exams but are unable to concentrate on studies due to an unfriendly environment around their houses. Keeping this in mind, we have planned to build an upgraded library for these students.”

Jagtap during his tenure as a CEO at Deolali Cantonment Board had implemented this idea for the first time which encouraged and benefited students and readers there. With reference to it, he had proposed this idea at the recent board meeting which was approved and acknowledged by KCB President Brig Dhiraj Mohan and Vice-President Abhay Sawant.
