Kudos! Pune ranks first as the happiest city in Maharashtra; bags 12th spot in India

Pune: The essence of Pune is quite strong and the impact of COVID-19 has not dampened any spirit among the Punekars. The city Pune has attracted lakhs of people yet has secured its crux, has found a place as the happiest city. It ranked 12th around India while standing first in Maharashtra overtaking Mumbai.

The findings were revealed in the survey named ‘Indian Cities Happiness Report 2020’, between October to November last year. Professor Rajesh K Pillania, Professor of Strategy, Management Development Institute led the survey in all major cities around the country. Dr Pillania is rated and awarded the Top Professor for Strategy in India by ASSOCHAM and Education Post. He is renowned for his extensive research, jointly ranked number one in average research productivity among management faculty.

Apart from Pune, Nagpur secured 17th position while Mumbai bagged 21st position. 25 cities were surveyed in Maharashtra. Talking about the country, Ludhiana ranked the first position followed by Ahmedabad and Chandigarh. Over 13,000 people were surveyed around the country. Among the cities, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Surat and New Delhi also joins the list. The results show age group, education and income level are overall positively related to happiness.
