

Pune: After MP Vijaysinh Mohite Patil and Congress party’s senior leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil’s son, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar has clarified his party’s stand. Pawar stated that party was ready to give Madha seat to Mohite Patil and South Ahmednagar Lok Sabha seat to Sujay Vikhe Patil. Ajit Pawar said, “We don’t know what happened and they both joined BJP.”
Pawar was in Pune to address party workers of Baramati, Shirur and Pune Lok Sabha constituencies. Speaking at a marriage hall, Pawar appealed to party workers to work hard for electing candidates of Congress-NCP alliance from three constituencies. After conducting the meeting, Pawar spoke to media and he clarified party’s stand on the NCP leader Vijaysinh Mohite Patil of Solapur and senior Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil’s son Sujay of Ahmednagar who recently joined BJP.
Pawar said, “The party wanted a senior and experienced leader in Lok Sabha. Senior leader Jayant Patil tried to contact Mohite Patil. But, his cell phone was switched off. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar wanted to offer candidature to Mohite Patil but, Mohite pushed for other candidate for Madha who faced strong opposition from legislators in Madha Lok Sabha constituency.”
He further clarified, “The party was also ready to give candidature to Sujay Vikhe Patil but we don’t know what happened. He joined BJP.”
