Pune: Officials of MahaMetro on Friday said that they have approached the National Monument Authority (NMA), urging it to reconsider its decision of not allowing construction near Aga Khan Palace on Nagar road. Earlier on Thursday, the NMA had rejected MahaMetro’s application to allow construction near Aga Khan Palace.
Officials of MahaMetro said that the project will not be affected by the decision taken by NMA. The tender for Vanaz Civil Court and civil court to Ramwadi corridor of the metro was allocated on August 16, 2017, and August 2, 2018, respectively.
MahaMetro is looking out for all possible ways after the rejection from NMA. As per the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958, which was amended in 2010, no construction of any kind is allowed within 100 metres of a nationally protected monument. Aga Khan Palace was declared a nationally protected monument in 2003.
Multilevel flyover
MahaMetro officials on Friday informed that they will start the construction of the multilevel flyover near Nal Stop from October.
