MCCIA Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 held in Pune

Pune: Several entrepreneurs from the city and across the state received the MCCIA Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 for commendable work in different sectors over the years. This was the 70th year of the awards instituted by the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA). 

The award ceremony, which was held at Tilak Smarak Mandir on Thursday, was attended by several dignitaries and businessmen from the city. 

Programme Director, Tata Trust, Mumbai, SJ Phansalkar attended the event as the chief guest. Among those present were President of MCCIA Pramod Chaudhari, Director General Anant Sardeshmukh and other office bearers. 

While addressing the audience, Phansalkar spoke about the various books written by him. He elaborated on eight blunders made by entrepreneurs, which must be avoided for a successful venture. 

The GS Parkhe Award for Innovation in Entrepreneurship was awarded to Vikarsh Nano Technology and Alloys Pvt Ltd for Nano-crystalline ribbons and cores, SS Techno Limited for Fertispent for Alcohol Distillery Waste Water, Kotkar Energy Dynamics Pvt Ltd for portable skid-based Mast System for Telecommunications Network, Renuka Equipments Pvt Ltd For Hydraulic Ladle Tilting System (HLTS). 

Wavelet Technologies Pvt Ltd received the award with a Special Appreciation Award from MCCIA for its GEOLUT-R system. 

The Hari Malini Joshi Award for developing New Product and Design was awarded to SLK Hydro Technologies for Heat Press or Fusing machine, Vedashram for Multi-functional Panchakarma and Swedan treatment table and Dolphin Floats Pvt Ltd for Mozzzart-Mosquito Mass Killing System. 

The Ramabai Joshi Award for Women Entrepreneurs was given to Shree Sai Garments for manufacturing of industrial uniform and natural agro, fruits and vegetables processing unit for dried Jamum, mint powder, lemon grass powder, green tea, garlic powder and others. 

The MCCIA Late Kiran Natu Udyojakta Puraskar for first generation successful entrepreneur was handed over to Meru Industries LLP, SS Techno Limited, Scon Projects Pvt Ltd and Noble Cast Comp Pvt Ltd. 

The Late Shri BG Deshmukh, IAS, Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to Mercedes-Benz India Pvt Ltd, Persistent System Ltd and City Corporate Ltd. 

All winners were awarded a trophy, certificates and medals. Beside this, Mercedes-Benz India Pvt Ltd, Persistent System Ltd were also awarded a sum of Rs 50,000, while Meru Industries LLP was awarded a sum of Rs one lakh.
