Molestation case lodged against traffic official

PUNE: The 20-year-old girl who was allegedly pushed by a traffic policeman during a scuffle between her father and the policeman lodged a case of molestation and assault against the policeman at Deccan police station on Friday.

Based on the complaint filed by the girl, policeman Ravindra Ingale has been booked under charges of molestation and assault. On Thursday, Ingale had given a complaint against the girl’s father, Shyam Bhadane, who is the husband of a judge posted with the Pune district court. The incident took place on Wednesday at Swatantrata Chowk on Karve Road. It has been captured on a CCTV camera.

As per the complaint filed by the girl, who reported being diabetic and facing ear related problems, she was pushed by Ingale after he slapped her father. The complainant told the police that she was also slapped by Ingale. In his complaint against the father-daughter duo, Ingale complained that Bhadane had jumped the signal after which he had taken his licence and asked him to pay a fine through the e-challan machine. Badhane tried to snatch his licence and in the melee the bike ran over the policeman’s foot.

Based on Ingale’s complaint, cops have booked Bhadane and his daughter for offences under section 353 (obstructing a public servant from discharging his official duty) and 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and other sections of the IPC.
