Meteorologists have indicated that weather conditions are favourable for further monsoon advancement during the next two to three days. By around June 10, the monsoon is expected to cover large parts of the Konkan region and the Western Ghats.

Several areas of Marathwada are also likely to receive heavy rainfall from June 7 onwards. The favourable weather pattern is being supported by a trough of low pressure extending from Marathwada across Konkan and Goa into the Arabian Sea.

This system is helping accelerate the monsoon's progress while increasing rainfall activity across western Maharashtra and the Konkan region.
