On Friday, March 13th, a truck carrying fish overturned on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, causing a temporary traffic disruption and necessitating a brief vehicle diversion by authorities. The incident took place near the Amrutanjan Bridge at approximately 6:25 am.
As reported by The Indian Express, several emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene following the accident report. Members from the Highway Safety Patrol, local police, IRB patrol units, Delta Force, and the Mrutyunjay Devdoot emergency response system were dispatched to manage traffic and clear the highway.
Assistant Police Inspector Swapnil Patil informed The Indian Express that a brake malfunction is believed to be the main reason for the accident.
According to Patil, the truck flipped over close to the Amrutanjan Bridge at approximately 6:25 am, resulting in minor injuries to both the driver and the cleaner.

This report arrives a month following an incident where a tanker transporting highly flammable propylene gas overturned near the Adoshi Tunnel (km 41) within Raigad district on the Pune–Mumbai Expressway, at approximately 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. It took authorities nearly 30 hours to clear the tanker, which was finally removed from the vicinity of the tunnel at around 10:00 pm on Wednesday.
Following the vehicle's overturn, propylene gas escaped from the tanker. To prevent a possible major disaster, traffic heading towards Mumbai was entirely halted, whereas traffic from Mumbai to Pune was permitted to proceed with utmost care. The incident happened when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and chemical specialists were dispatched to manage the situation.
