Pune, 10 December 2025: The Mundhwa land scam investigation has taken a new turn after one of the main accused, Sheetal Tejwani, filed a civil compensation case against Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor in a Pune court. Tejwani, who is currently in police custody, has sought ₹50.40 lakh in damages, claiming that Kapoor violated the terms of a lease agreement for his apartment in Pune.

In her complaint to the Pune Civil Court, Tejwani stated that she was living in Kapoor’s flat at Trump Towers in Kalyani Nagar under a legally valid lease. She alleged that she was forced to vacate the apartment before the lock-in period mentioned in the agreement was completed. She has demanded compensation along with interest for what she described as a breach of contract.

Tejwani was arrested earlier this month in connection with the high-value 40-acre Mundhwa land scam. Police officials said that although she was questioned twice earlier, further investigation revealed her direct role in the illegal land transaction.

The disputed land was originally classified as Mahar Watan land before it was transferred to the state government and later reserved for a proposed central government botanical garden.

Despite its estimated market value of around ₹1,800 crore, the land was allegedly sold to Amadea Enterprises LLP for just ₹300 crore. The firm is reportedly linked to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar.

Investigators have also alleged that stamp duty worth ₹21 crore was waived in the deal, with only ₹500 paid. According to the police, Tejwani obtained a power of attorney from the descendants of the original landowners and played a key role in facilitating the sale to Amadea Enterprises LLP.
