"No political person should come to our house until my daughter gets justice and the murderer is sentenced to death," he said in a video statement that has since circulated widely across social media platforms. Several civil society organisations and citizens' groups have extended solidarity with the family's position. The statement has sparked debate over politicians visiting crime scenes and victims’ homes after high-profile cases, a practice the grieving father has strongly rejected.

What is the Nasrapur Case?

A three-and-a-half-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered in the Nasrapur area of Bhor taluka, Pune district, with the accused allegedly concealing her body beneath a dung heap inside a cowshed. Police have arrested Bhimrao Kamble, 65, a resident of Salwade village in Bhor taluka, in connection with the crime. Further investigation is underway.

The victim, who had travelled to the village with her parents for the summer vacation, was last seen in the Ram Mandir area of Nasrapur on Friday. According to police, the accused lured the child to his cowshed. She was subsequently sexually assaulted and killed. Her body was buried inside the cowshed in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.

Public Demand: Fast-Track Trial, Death Penalty

Residents of Nasrapur and nearby areas are urging that the case be moved to a fast-track court, with many demanding that the accused receive the death penalty. The village remains in mourning, and the wider Bhor taluka has seen widespread expressions of sorrow and outrage since the crime was exposed. The case has been filed under the applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and police state that the investigation is still in progress.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also condemned the killing of the young girl, calling it deeply disturbing and unacceptable, and said the government will seek a fast-track trial and the strictest punishment for the accused.
