PUNE: The price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs 61.50 to Rs 65 in the middle of crude oil prices reduction. In Pune, the cost of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders will be Rs 734.50.

The price has been reduced for the second consecutive month. Earlier, the price of the cylinder was reduced in March. The new rates will be applicable from April 1.

According to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), prices of 14.2 kg cylinders have been reduced by Rs 61.50 in Delhi and by Rs 62 in Mumbai and Pune.

On March 31, the government has announced to reduce the price of natural gas produced in the country. The prices have been reduced by 26 per cent.

Before Holi, giving a significant relief to the citizens, the oil companies had cut the price of the cylinder without subsidy by Rs 53 on March 1. The cut comes as a relief as the price of LPG went up by six times between August 2019 to February 2020. This increase was around 50 per cent.
