
Pune, 18 June 2025: In a major breakthrough, Kondhwa police have arrested a notorious thief who has been involved in breaking into more than 150 houses across Pune city. The accused, identified as Arjun Singh Rajput Singh Dudhani (47), a resident of Manjarigaon, Hadapsar, was caught after meticulous surveillance and investigation by dedicated police teams.
The breakthrough came after a burglary on June 4, when the accused broke the lock of a closed house in the Kondhwa area and stole 21 tolas of gold ornaments, cash, and even the CCTV DVR of the housing society to cover his tracks. Following this, a case was registered at Kondhwa police station, prompting the police to swing into action.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajkumar Shinde (Zone 5), Assistant Commissioner Dhanyakumar Godse, Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar, and Police Inspector Navnath Jagtap, two special teams were formed to track the thief. The teams meticulously checked over 100 CCTV footage clips for five consecutive days to trace the movements of the accused.
After gathering concrete leads, the police laid a trap and successfully arrested Arjun Singh Dudhani. During the arrest, officers recovered stolen property including a 40-gram gold mangalsutra, a 20-gram gold chain, and a two-wheeler, with a total value of ₹3.40 lakh. The police revealed that Dudhani has a staggering record of over 150 housebreaking offences registered against him.
The operation saw the active participation of Assistant Inspector Rakesh Jadhav, Police Sub-Inspector Balaji Digole, and officers Satish Chavan, Nilesh Desai, Vishal Memane, Gorakhnath Chinke, Laxman Holkar, Sujit Madan, Suraj Shukla, Santosh Bansude, Vikas Margale, Rahul Thorat, Abhijit Jadhav, and Saif Pathan. The arrest has brought relief to residents and has been lauded as an exemplary effort by Pune Police.
