Pune: Pune Metro has proposed a contest wherein Punekars can suggest a name for the travel card for the Metro train in the city. The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha-Metro) stated that instead of giving the card a generic name, the organisation wants to give it a name linked to the city and wants to invite Punekars to participate in the naming process.
Cities such as Delhi, Kolkata have already replaced the tokens and tickets with these cards. All you have to do to come up with unique name with its significance. One can come up with a special name in English, Marathi and submit it to contest@punemetrorail.org.
Pune Metro Rail Project on their Twitter handle mentioned, "Coin a suitable name for Pune Metro Card" Contest. Just as everything is recognized with unique name, #PuneMetro travel card will be recognized by specific name. #MahaMetro has given this opportunity to every citizen. So participate in contest & suggest right name for Metro Card.”
