Pune, 30 June 2025: Over 23,000 IT professionals working in Hinjawadi IT Park have signed an online petition titled #UNCLOGHinjawadiITPark within just a week, raising serious concerns about traffic congestion, waterlogging, and damaged roads in Phases 1, 2, and 3 of the IT hub.
The petition, started by Sachin Londhe, founder of the Wakad–Pimpri Chinchwad Residents Development and Welfare Association, urges immediate action to fix the collapsing infrastructure in one of Maharashtra’s largest employment zones.
On Saturday, a group of IT professionals submitted a hard copy of the petition to Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge and discussed their daily struggles. The group shared photos and videos showing knee-deep water, slushy roads, broken footpaths, and long hours spent in traffic, especially during peak hours.
MLA Landge assured the employees of short-term relief measures within the next 30–60 days. He also promised to raise the issue during the Monsoon Session of the Maharashtra Assembly, beginning June 30 in Mumbai.
In a significant step forward, Landge’s intervention has prompted the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary to convene a high-level meeting today (June 30). Officials from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Pune Zilla Parishad, MSEDCL, MahaMetro, and the State Pollution Control Board have been called to attend.
“The recent rains have exposed the poor state of infrastructure in Hinjawadi. This meeting, guided by the Chief Minister’s office, is crucial to address these issues on a priority basis,” said MLA Landge.
The petition also proposed long-term solutions like merging Hinjawadi IT Park under PCMC’s jurisdiction for better coordination, and creating a dedicated IT & Software Park Ministry to address issues across major tech hubs in the state.
Campaign lead Sachin Londhe thanked MLA Landge for taking the concerns seriously and hoped for prompt action before the situation worsens during the ongoing monsoon.
