Pune: Guardian Minister Girish Bapat suggested that Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh should have a corpus to help journalists undergoing life-saving treatment. He was speaking at the condolence meet for senior journalist Ashish Jadhav on Monday.
Jadhav (36), passed away on Thursday, November 2 due to complications after heart surgery.
“I would suggest that Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh form a corpus to help ailing journalists to get timely treatment. Also, let us all promise to help Jadhav's family as much as possible to bring them out of these difficult times,” Bapat added.
Former Mayor Prashant Jagtap, City Congress Chief Ramesh Bagwe also promised financial help to support Jadhav's family.
Several journalists from different media houses in the city also attended the meet and expressed their condolences.
Shailesh Kale, President, Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh appealed to the journalists to come together to help Jadhav's family financially and emotionally, and to share the problems with
each other.
