In several cases, the civic body has sealed properties and disconnected water connections as part of its recovery drive.
PCMC has been collecting property tax through its 18 zonal offices, and to encourage timely payment, it offered a 10% rebate for online payments made between April 1 and June 30. The incentive helped significantly, with 4.28 lakh citizens paying a total of ₹544 crore in taxes by July 16. A further 4% discount is now being offered for online payments made up to September 30.

According to PCMC officials, over three lakh citizens have opted to pay their taxes online, showing growing trust in the civic body’s digital services. Online payment facilities are enabling residents to clear dues from the comfort of their homes.
Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil stated that the civic body is committed to offering more incentives to promote online payments. Assistant Commissioner Avinash Shinde added that strict action like property seizure and water disconnection will continue against defaulters, and urged citizens to avoid such consequences by paying their dues on time.
