People postpone their foreign trips for morcha

Pune: The enthusiasm of participants of the Maratha Kranti Morcha in Mumbai can be gauged by the fact that many of them postponed their important work so that they could be a part of this protest rally.

Abhijeet Nawagekar, Information Security Auditor working with an IT company, said, “I was to travel to the United States on August 4 but as I wanted to participate in the Morcha, I postponed it to August 10.”

He added, “This Morcha will ensure participation of lakhs of people from the community. I believe that main purpose of this Morcha is to make the government realise that Marathi community members are not getting adequate employment opportunities due to reservations and as a result of this, the community feels neglected.”

Surendra Kakde, owner of a Herbal Industry at Satara, said, “I had to reschedule my work to be able to take part in the Morcha as the main aim is to bring justice to the people who did not get the opportunity even after having the capability.”

Anant Darwatkar, an advocate from the city, also said that he rescheduled his work to be able to go to Mumbai for Morcha.
