Pimpri-Chinchwad: Over 190 booked for flouting travel rules

Pimpri: In order to keep a strict check on the traffic and lockdown violators, the police have intensified the patrolling in areas of Pimpri Chinchwad. Those who are avoiding and flouting the rules of traffic and venturing without masks are heavily fined in the area.

The Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate has taken action against 190 such citizens in a span of two days in their jurisdiction. A number of cases are reported in MIDC Bhosari (10), Bhosari (5), Pimpri (20), Chinchwad (8), Nigdi (21), Dighi (8), Sangvi (9), Wakad (45), Hinjewadi (18), Dehuroad (40) Action was taken under Talegaon Dabhade (4), Chikhali (8) police stations.

The action has been taken by the police under the relevant Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. The number of corona patients in the industrial city is increasing day by day. Therefore, the administration is appealing to the citizens to use masks, face shields, and follow all norms of physical distancing.

Although the restrictions on the lockdown has relaxed, some restrictions remain in place to curb the further spread of COVID-19, as a result, some guidelines have been already issued by the administration especially while travelling.  Therefore, the police is appealing to the citizens not to break the rules by crowding outside their houses and not to step out of their respective homes for petty reasons.
